RP Wars 2 was a four-person collaborative Developmental game project made in the wake of the death of RP Wars. Created in the hopes of continuing the Executor RP concept past the original game, the project was ultimately a failure, resulting in the continuation of the First Dark Period until SenorConejo created Kingdoms 1.
History
When chunghhoid (then known as TheLoyalHorse) discontinued RP Wars, he soft-cleared the plot by replacing the map with a black concrete floor. However, he did not fully clear the plot, preserving the list of natural and man-made structures that existed above the map.
This drew the attention of clumsycapy (then known as thecoolkid26), an RP Wars player who remained interested in continuing RP Wars. With him were Bloxhead7 and dylan34481, both of which hadn't played or spectated RP Wars but heard of the concept and were likewise interested in seeing the game brought back to life. Following a quick conversation with chunghhoid, the four players got to work in developing the game.
Development and Demise
It's unclear what was developed of RP Wars 2, but according to Bloxhead7, chunghhoid had worked on placing and labeling ores in the revised area. This suggests that a mechanical rework of the game was at least somewhat made, and Blox also recalled that the map and some basic functions of the game were being worked on.
After some time, progress on the game came to a halt. This was likely due to a mix of apathy and inactivity from the creators.
Legacy
RP Wars 2, and its failure to be fully developed, remains a testament to how unlikely the rise of the DiamondFire Executor RP community and the Warlords community was. The aforementioned apathy of the creators stemmed largely from the fact that the Executor RP concept was merely a concept and not its own game type at this point in DiamondFire history. The players' interest in the concept could be likened more to a curiosity than a fascination, seeing as no further efforts were made by them to create any sort of successor to RP Wars. Had Kingdoms 1 never been released, it begs the question as to whether or not any other Developmental game would've been hosted past RP Wars.
