Loria
The Loria genre (formerly referred to as Country games, a term whose meaning has changed) is one of the three genres that exist within Executor RP games. These games, which encompass most complex political and strategy-oriented games, exist across every known Executor RP community to date. Despite their prevalence, however, the Loria subgenre was the last to emerge in the DiamondFire-Warlords community.
Definition
A game is considered to fall under the Loria genre if it meets the criterion of an Executor RP as well as the following:
- The player starts in a pre-made country;
- The player's main objective involves some sort of tactical or strategic goal.
Games within this genre sometimes have:
- A fully visible map as opposed to a fog-of-war system;
- Some usage of text to outline a country's basic statistics;
- A battle and/or war system;
The result is usually a game where the player selects a country and works toward their objective. Some common objectives include, but are not limited to:
- Conquest of a certain nation or region;
- Economic or political stabilization;
- Defeating a particular country in war;
- Becoming a global superpower.
Etymology
The term Loria is derived from the game Belloria by clumsycapy, the largest Loria in DiamondFire-Warlords history in terms of player count and the game responsible for bringing the genre to the mainstream DiamondFire community, leading to the Early Loria Boom.
