Dorkymcdorkface (commonly known as Dorky) is a DiamondFire and Warlords player who became the 14th Warlords member sometime in the middle of 2021. An amateur astrophysicist and worldbuilder, Dorky is mainly known for his hyper realistic maps as well as solar systems with unusual, physically accurate systems.
Warlords Biography
Dorkymcdorkface formerly knew two Warlords players, clumsycapy and FrenchFryFan, through DiamondFire. He'd often talk to them about conceptual worlds he'd created in his head, and speak at length about the matter for hours if left uninterrupted. This gave clumsycapy the idea of inviting him to Warlords, where he'd be able to meet new people and further explore his concepts as much as needed. Sometime during 2021, whilst Warlords was mainly housed in Minehut Warlords, Dorky would join Warlords for the first time. He was informally confirmed as a member through a manual vote that took place across /msg, and was conducted by clumsycapy; Dorky remains the only player to be confirmed through this exact process.
Creations
Initially, Dorky would not make any games, and throughout 2021 and 2022, would only restrict himself to creating concept maps, sometimes with living inhabitants, as well as adding lore to the stories of the celestial masses as well as the people living on them. Throughout this time, Dorky became a far more proficient mapmaker as well as storyteller, and eventually became confident enough to create one of his own games.
Inspired by Kerbal Space Program, Dorky created his first game, Edon Marus, in early 2023. The game was primarily a space exploration game where the player would create spaceships and explore the Edon Marus solar system, somehow gaining resources to upgrade their spaceship over time. However, the concept of the game was not fully fleshed out, and Dorky became dissatisfied with the Edon-Marus system. Therefore, he abandoned the project prior to ever hosting it. However, using the same concept but having far more defined mechanics, Dorky created a game named Expedition during March and April, 2023. He formed a new solar system, the dual sun system of Rho-Red, which he found considerably more interesting. The exact mechanics for upgrading the spacecraft were far simpler and better defined than Edon-Marus, leading to an increase in popularity and feasibility of Expedition. The game has yet to be hosted, but already has 5 players signed up to play.
