Currencies have slowly become another element of Warlords, one that came out of necessity. It hasn't had an impressive history like the RP games where it derived from, but regardless has its fair share of history. So, lets talk about that. Disclaimer: As of me writing this book (9/26/19) currencies are still a relatively controversial topic in some areas. So, I'll try my best to say if something is controversial, but take note that you are free to dispute any claims in this. Chapter 1 - Proto-Warlords Currencies So, our history of currencies can go far back. Already, we have a problem on where our story should start. The earliest form of in-game currency that was witnessed in DiamondFire (RP origin server) would be Interbucks, by a player called Pecks, who had absolutely no involvement with RPs. This can classify as the first "currency," but chances are you can disagree with this. Interbucks ended up being a failure after controversy arose over it, despite quite a few plots using it. Then, in an undefined point in time, the more agreed upon first currency was made. Senores, by SenorConejo. It was made around the time where Kingdoms was very much popular on DF, but it had served no purpose ultimately. The currency was barely earned, but with its lack of usage, it died out for a while. However, it is relevant to the story, and will come back in a bit. So, currencies in pre-Warlords history, and for much of Warlords history were essentially just that. It was just a matter of nobody thinking about having currencies because they seemed, well, useless. So, how did they reemerge? Chapter 2 - Early Era/The Bloxbux Era It was Blox who would be the first to revive the concept. A currency that could be used for several of his games, notably Knoria and Fidese, and earned through polls, was born. It was called Bloxbux, and already it was a much better currency than its predecesors. Unlike Senores, Bloxbux could actually be earned and spent in a solid matter, and as a result, its been able to survive. It is the 2nd oldest currency behind Senores, technically. This is where another controversy comes in - Would you consider Senores or Bloxbux to be first? Senores would not re-emerge until much later, but they were born before Bloxbux. I'm not going to elaborate further, you can have your own opinion. Now, not much really came after that in terms of the Early Era. Bloxbux wouldn't inspire any currencies at all, until much later. Two currencies are directly descended from Bloxbux, and those are: Ultrinos and Graciens. Emphasis on that first one. (Note : Graciens appeared during the next era, but were linked solely to Bloxbux for a long time and thus, I consider it to be descended from the Early Era rather than the Currency Boom itself) Chapter 3 - The Currency Boom/The Ultrino Era Ultrinos were made by UltraCraftGames, who used it and made it similarly to Bloxbux. There wasn't any major difference, except you used one for Blox's games and the other for Ultra's games. Big deal. However, the two would talk to each other. In the first ever agreement regarding currencies, a conversion rate was made between Bloxbux and Ultrinos. During this time, two Bloxbux equaled one Ultrino. However, this began something much, much greater than what was in the agreement itself. Maybe it was simply that there were now two people operating currencies and others decided to jump in. Maybe it was the agreement showing that these currencies could interact with each other, and opened up a whole new aspect of Warlords. Or, maybe thats a bit too deep. Whatever the case, we can all agree that what followed was essentially every active Warlords player forming their own currency. So many currencies came from the Currency Boom that exist as of 9/26/19 that its easier to say which ones did NOT come from the Boom itself: Bloxbux, Ultrinos, Graciens. Thats it. Every other currency that you see has come from this Boom. Other major installments came shortly after. Cubies would form the first bank, however: Controversy: Graciens had a 'bank' before the Cubies bank that consisted of a few signs. And, Ultrinos had the Temple of the Black Egg, which became the Ultrino bank after the Cubies bank existed. Ultra himself states that the temple of the black egg was built around the same time as the Cubies bank, and afterwards became the Ultrino bank. Okay, thats about it for that issue. After the Cubie bank's creation, the Ultrino and Bruhnote banks were born. Importantly, the Cubies bank was moved to be next to the Bruhnote bank, which was in a large area of empty space. This was the beginning of what is now a massive row of every currency's bank. Now, everything was booming and currencies were, for a while, a frequently talked about topic in Warlords. Senores would be one of the last of the boom, coming back around this time. It also marked the beginning of conflicts between currencies. So, some basic "warlords economics" If your currency recognizes another currency, you have an official rate with it. So, with this in mind, 'unrecognizing' a currency means that you shut down that rate, either because you no longer recognize that currency, or because you want to change the conversion rate, which requires them to approve of as well. The first instance in which unrecognizing was used to actually not recognize a currency was the "RENs" (Refused Endeavor of Negotiation) established by Bloxbux. At its height, 3 currencies were not recognized, and for a period of time, Senores were on the REN list. To this date, they have settled their issues and Bloxbux has no currencies on their "REN list" The first time unrecognizing was used to change a conversion rate was between Bruhnotes and Bloxbux, where I made the argument that Bruhnotes (which, at the time, had a rate of 2 Bruhnotes equaling 1 Bloxbux) should have been more valuable than Bloxbux. I wanted a rate of 2 Bloxbux equaling 1 Bruhnote. You can have your own opinions on it, but the outcome ultimately was settled with me gaining what I had demanded. Great. So, with that said, the Ultrino Era was now seeing its close, as the same instance occured between Bruhnotes and Ultrinos. Chapter 4 - The Era of Stability/The Bruhnote Era At the time, the rate was 2 Bruhnotes equaling 1 Ultrino. (It used to be 4 Bruhnotes equaling 1 Ultrino prior to the Bloxbux renegotiation) Again, I believed that Bruhnotes should be more valuable than Ultrinos. The argument was more on the premise of Ultrinos overinflating, but have your own opinions. The new rate became 2 Ultrinos equaling 1 Bruhnote. And, I call this the start of an era. For a long period of time, no major renegotiations occured. It was now the time where currencies settled down, and stabilized. This era was not as exciting as the Ultrino Era, but regardless had some important developments. "Cents" of currencies were made around this time. Cubies had "Compressed Cubies" during the Ultrino Era, but those were not used and were removed eventually. Bruhcents became the first cent currency, followed by Quarkinos and others. During the late Ultrino era and early Bruhnote era, Bloxbux had developed a chart to label currencies by their stability level. Bruhnotes would soon follow, and as of 9/26/19, they are the only two currencies to evaluate stability levels. There weren't any official rules except for just commonly agreed upon terms, so the first official law making body of Warlords was made, known as the Economic Community (or EcoCom) for short. There's more changes and all of that, but I think you get the point here. Currencies have been able to put themselves in a solid place now, and are definitely here to stay. And thats where the book really ends. Of course, each currency brought their own things to the table, I can go through those quickly - DaCoin became a neutral currency bank that stores currencies under the promise that they will not change with other currencies, or have a use at all. I personally own it, though, so it has been met with some controversy. Poopypoints were the first joke currency on this game. You used to be able to send pictures of, uh... excrement to earn poopypoints. The currency was the first in history to shut down and the first to be voted to kick out from EcoCom (as a result of its shutdown) Dwarfbucks are an abnormally small currency, with the rate as of 9/26/19 being 4000 Dwarfbucks equaling 1 Bruhnote. Senores are now useful now, but instead of adding its own cent currency, it decided to make sub-currencies that can be used for one game specifically. For example, you can turn Senores into Crowns, which can be used in Kingdoms. Or, you can turn them into Bellums, which can be used in Bellumia. Chapter 5 - The Future? This is history that is still being made. This book here is merely the first chapter in what could be a much longer history. Or, maybe it'll end soon. Graciens are the first to branch to other MC servers - You can convert Graciens to money in a geopolitical server called GeoMC. Ultrinos now have a value of 10 cents USD in the real world, as an Ultrino rate was made with Satoshis (An actual cryptocurrency) Of course, this is limited to the amount of money UltraCraftGames has, but as he said, this is a major step for currencies. There are many future possibilities here, and maybe in the next book, we'd talk about how Warlords currencies have become something more. But thats all speculation. For now? We're going to have to leave it here. The groundwork has been set for more to happen, but we'll have to wait and see. And, thats about it. For now. alright bye its 11 o clock and im tired written by thecoolkid26 not much help on this one so im accepting corrections b y e 9/26/19
